Alaska

Alaska

From their name, you might be thinking UK, and you wouldn't be too far off. Alaska play a very symphonic progressive rock that sounds like what might result if Yes dispensed with electric guitar. The keys are more Emerson than Wakeman, but singer Al Lewis really reinforces the Yes comparison. This is one of those albums that gets better and better as it progresses. Progressive, symphonic rock performed with keyboards, drums and vocals without electric guitars, and with guest performers including a string quartet on 2 tracks.

Alsaka must be an easy name for bands to think up as there are many bands with that name.

Emotions Rescue Through Tomahawk

Alaska

Rock / Psychedelic
The origin of alaska! is nebulous. The first record was titled "emotions" (2003). The second album is Rescue Through Tomahawk (April 2005). It's a war cry of raw beauty, discord and harmony...seeking light in dark times, bridging the spaces between love & hate, hope & despair, the real & the fake. the songs were written by imaad wasif on vox/guitar and rocked into oblivion with russ pollard on bass and lesley ishino on drums.
